Where no paper folder has gone before

eprise0.gif (2305 bytes) Start with a regular sheet of 8-1/2 by 11 paper (or similar proportions). Fold it in half along the short dimension and then fold two corners down to B as shown. The two sides of the paper are distinguished by gray and white. Former positions of edges are shown in light blue.
Fold point A down to point B.
Return point A to its original position. Folds AB and CE cross at D. Crease the paper through D parallel to edges AC and AE as shown. After folding, open the paper up again.
Refold the paper along the previous creases but reverse folds CD and DE. Points C and E should meet at C'E' and a vertical fin should project upward as shown in the small inset.
Open the vertical fin as shown in the small inset and flatten it .
1. Fold the two wings of the paper downward, leaving the small square DF'G' (previous diagram) horizontal.

2. Crease the wings about a quarter of the way down along JK as shown. The exact location is not critical.

3. Crease the paper along the inner edge of the wings by folding corner L down as shown.

4. Return corner L to its original position, spread the two wings slightly, and tuck corner L between the wings as shown.

Now fold the wings back up along fold J. As you do, the fin between the two wings will spread apart. While opening the two wings apart, spread the inside fin and fold it flat against the underside as shown.
1. The construction should look like this.

2. Fold the wing tips upward

3. For a vintage Enterprise, roll the folded wingtips tightly and give the remaining wings a V-angle.

4. For a next-generation look, leave the wings flat.
